American Rapstar

As a production assistant for the documentary feature film *American Rapstar*, I joined the production team just before the pandemic hit. My main responsibility was to help secure the final clearances and licenses needed for all B-roll and licensed footage in the film. My contribution to the project helped ensure that all necessary legal requirements were met, which was crucial for the film's release.

The film explores the SoundCloud rap scene's biggest stars from within the culture, as well as placing them in the broader musical context, in an attempt to understand how we arrived here and where we are headed. Despite the disappointment of the pandemic killing its SXSW2020 debut, I still really love the film and am glad it has been picked up on Apple TV+.
